This workshop helps anyone in healthcare communications think in leadership terms and combines the practical skills of medical journalism with insights from communications psychology, NLP and cognitive science.

Thirty years of research in this area is now showering us with information gems - revealing just how powerfully, and with what exquisite precision, we can shape events in each other's brains when we understand more about how language and thought interrelate.

If it is part of your role to:

  • inspire, motivate and build trust among healthcare audiences via email and other forms of written communication
  • influence and guide clients, colleagues or virtual teams in a scientific business environment
  • generate productive and engaging dialogue with your organisation’s stakeholders
  • translate scientific complexity with rigour and clarity while at the same time addressing the emotive values being expressed

Help yourself or your team to more effective leadership in writing in the medical arena by reserving places on this workshop.

Feedback from recent workshops has been tremendous. The last workshop notched up an average overall evaluation of 4.79 on a 5-point scale (where five is excellent) on seven different parameters.

To quote some of the participants: “This goes beyond teaching technique as it has changed my beliefs and whole approach. It will make such a difference to my writing.” “Many thanks for such an instructive and enjoyable day. It has already started to influence my thinking and writing.” “Fascinating theoretically - as well as being excellent concrete help.” “An extremely useful and informative day which has really made me think. I’m taking such a lot away from this. Thank you.”“It was great! I am not only going to use this in everyday practice to improve my own writing but also in my coaching of others.”

We invite you to join us for a day of inspiration to help you develop business writing excellence in a healthcare context.

Susan Mayor Medical Communications and Fruitful Conversations

Susan Mayor and Deborah Goodall of Fruitful Conversations offer these joint initiatives to provide communicators and business leaders, particularly in the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors, with communications development in a leadership context.

Our latest programme of open workshops is now available and focuses on writing excellence, the language of leadership and the mental strategies that underpin successful communication at work.

We combine the highest levels of practical journalistic skill with communications psychology, authentic leadership, NLP and cognitive linguistic learning.

Once equipped with a greater understanding of the interplay between language and cognition – and the beliefs and values that drive your own and others’ communication – you can:

Inspire, persuade and motivate colleagues and clients to work with you more effectively

Understand more of what is important to others before you act

Generate the results you want through writing excellence or when talking with people

Relate genuinely to wider audiences including via the media – in both proactive and reactive situations

Our approach combines theory and practice and helps you:

Use the kind of language and leadership that build credibility and emotional connection

Draw more explicitly on some fundamental processes that underlie all speech and writing

Understand how we process and relate to information before we will act on it

Learn how to use language more specifically to guide and focus thought.
